"NIGHTS BY THE FIRE" OUT NOW!

My new album is streaming everywhere June 6.

Nights by the Fire is my fourth studio album. I produced, mixed, and mastered the album over the course of the COVID-19 lockdown. I took a hiatus from posting and engaging with the world to create this project in creative solitude. With all that time on my hands, I spent time writing and turning my daily anxieties and frustrations into music form, something tangible and listenable and simultaneously therapeutic. Musically, the challenge was finding the right balance of sounds and lyrics. The first beat I produced that set the tone for the album was “Gorgeous,” which features a back-and-forth between Don Michael Jr and me on a choppy sample track. The second song I created, “Black Sabbath,” originally titled “1969,” is a rebellious anthem for those dedicated to Black Nationalist ideas. Altogether, there are 17 songs covering various topics, including my life, love, politics, and spiritual beliefs. Add the album to your summer playlist on your favorite streaming platform.
