The True Meaning of Life
Thought Exercise ///
The true meaning of life is to plant trees, under whose shade you do not expect to sit. Future human endeavors must rally around this central focus in the modern world of the internet and global collective intelligence. We have to do better overall to communicate this to our communities en masse. Governments should subsidize developing businesses in innovative sectors that promote this ideology (not corn and high processed foods). The solution is simple; we humans must design society to reward the creation of systems that enhance, beautify, and balance our well-being, habitats, and ecosystems. Humans, for centuries, believed gods ordained us to conquer the earth and each other. None of that is true, but many are still slow to wake up to the new reality. Humans believe we’re piloting the spaceship called planet Earth, but we can’t forget we’re not the only passengers on board. The ship doesn’t run (how we like it) without the balance and harmony of all on board.
Collectively, human intelligence can travel the stars, feed and shelter each other, and fix the destructive consequences of global warming. But currently, we live the complete opposite of that, in a rapidly degrading system that passively rewards cruelty, selfishness, and our many demons, which are entirely “old-brain” characteristics in the grand scheme. Life is no longer fight or flight, or at least it doesn’t have to be.
Why are we here? Human beings are body and spirit, living computer systems, subjected to the false realities of human societies. I call it interference, and interference includes but is not limited to religion, television, radio, music, art, social media, propaganda, and corporate marketing. The fact is, most of us kowtow and assimilate to false realities in exchange for what we believe is “stability” and “normalcy.” Most human societies are vying for control of our communities and minds through programming (overtly termed). Most humans have access to such programming every minute of our waking day.
With so much interference bombarding us day in and out, it’s no wonder we see high rates of depression and sickness. What many call education, I call brainwashing and miseducation. We should have balance inside and out. That includes balance with nature, building patience, and understanding the harmony achieved through stewardship and self-care. All this is in addition to being taught financial, agricultural, and political responsibility and empowerment. We need a more accurate understanding of our human reality, as great philosophers have argued for centuries. This idea shouldn’t be closed to the walls of philosophy classes due to its role in the greater understanding of human existence. We need critical thinking and foresight to achieve a larger collective vision. Take nothing for granted. 🏴☠️
