I'm excited to announce my latest project, "She Listens At Night," released just in time for summer! This coming-of-age album explores love, relationships, and heartbreak in the internet era.
With 27 songs, it is a hefty hour and 15 minutes long. I put all my effort into it and am incredibly proud of this project; I can't wait for everyone to hear it!
For this album, I blended several global music influences with my hip-hop roots, creating a unique and dynamic sound for listeners. It's still hip-hop, but I added tons of unique chord progressions, which contrast against the powerful 808 basslines and driving kick drums. I've continued my signature sound of DITC or Diggin' in the Crates, sampling old vocals and cutting them into loops under the piano chords.
For those unfamiliar, the DITC movement was created in the '90s by underground hip-hop producers and DJs, including Lord Finesse and Diamond D, among others. My music became heavily influenced by this sound as a teenager, and I incorporated it into my style, slowly growing it over time and blending more and more genres from around the world, including House, EDM, Dubstep, Reggae, Rock, Afrobeat, and more.
"She Listens At Night" is the culmination of the above. I wanted this project to feel timeless, familiar, and unique. I’m humbled the album has already received dope reviews, so if you have yet to hear it, it's available on all platforms, including Apple Music, Spotify, Tidal, Pandora, Youtube, and more.
As an independent artist, my fans are crucial to my success, so I encourage you to share the album with your network of friends and family. Your support means the world to me.
